Biography
«Bun-leng» is the Thai word for making music, and it is exactly music what has brought us together. We all have different backgrounds as soloists, yet we share the same passion in contemporary music. The Bun Leng Project aims to combine research and performance together. We are eager to find lesser known chamber music pieces originally written for saxophones and to collaborate with composers in commissioning pieces that will help us discover new sound possibilities of our ensemble. More importantly, we would like to share the result of our collaborative work by performing in front of audiences all around the world.
Founded by George W. Pruksavanich, Guillermo Presa and Tipwatoo Aramwittaya, the group had its debut concert at the Saturday Recital Series in St James’s Church (Bushey, London) in March 2018. Since then, they have performed and taught at the 10th Mallorca Saxophone Festival (Palma de Mallorca, March 2018), the 18th World Saxophone Congress (Zagreb, Croatia, July 2018), the Thailand – Malaysia 2018 Concert Tour (visiting the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music, the Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University and the Yamaha Music Hall Bangkok and Yamaha Music Hall Kuala Lumpur, August 2018), the Crossover Contemporary Concert (The Hague, Netherlands, November 2018), the 2nd Poznań Sax Event with Jérôme Laran (Poznań, Poland, December 2018), the Bilbao Conservatory (April 2019), the 11th Mallorca Saxophone Festival (April 2019), the Thailand 2019 Concert Tour (visiting the Music Campus for General Public Mahidol University, the College of Music Mahidol University and the Faculty of Fine Arts Songkhla Rajabhat University).
Future events include a performance at the next Mallorca Saxophone Festival edition, a tour in China and the recording of a CD.
